Spring Motor Mania wasn’t produced by a promotions company or a corporate sponsor. It was built by two neighboring businesses on Horsham Road who shared a passion for performance, custom builds, and the people who love machines. For ten years — 2009 through 2018 — Bikes Built Better and Injection Connection brought the Horsham community together every spring. This is their story.

The idea for Bikes Built Better was born on April 7, 2004 when Joe Heffernan and Chuck sat down and decided that if they wanted their bikes done better, they’d have to build the shop themselves. They were tired of the way big dealerships treated customers — phone trees, upsells, and mechanics who didn’t ride. Joe had the business experience running Babylon Campus commercial real estate in Horsham. Chuck brought the mechanical background, the web and technology skills, and a lifelong connection to the motorcycle world.
On June 5, 2005, Bikes Built Better opened its doors at 133 Horsham Road.
The mission was simple and hasn’t changed since: be the ultimate neighborhood motorcycle shop. Full service repair and custom work on all makes and models — from 250cc Ninjas to Harley Ultra touring rigs. Oil changes to engine rebuilds. Routine maintenance to turbocharger installations. And always, honest service at fair prices. If a twenty-dollar part does the same job as a hundred-dollar part, that’s what BBB will tell you.
The shop also became home to Foil Hat Racing — the performance and dyno tuning arm of the operation — bringing serious motorsports capability right to Horsham Road.
More than two decades later, Bikes Built Better is still at 133 Horsham Road, still rider-owned, and still the kind of place where a visit feels less like a transaction and more like stopping by a friend’s garage. A friend who happens to have a dyno.
Spring Motor Mania grew directly out of the BBB community — and that community is still very much alive.

Right next door at 135 Horsham Road, Dale Cherry has been turning ordinary cars into extraordinary performers for over 30 years. As owner and operator of Injection Connection and Berrel Auto Repair, Inc., Dale built his reputation the hard way — one engine at a time.
He is an ASE Certified Master Technician with L1 Advanced Engine Performance certification, but his credentials go well beyond the classroom. Dale is the NMCA Limited Street Class World Champion and Record Holder in his 1986 Buick Grand National — a machine he built and campaigned himself. And on August 14, 2009, at the Bonneville Salt Flats, he joined the 200 MPH Club with a run of 219.094 mph. That’s not a resume line. That’s a way of life.
Injection Connection is the go-to source in the tri-state area for electronic fuel injection, turbocharging, supercharging, and high performance engine work on cars and trucks. When Dale works on your vehicle, you’re getting the expertise of someone who has personally driven a street car at 219 miles per hour and lived to tune another day.
After more than 30 years behind the wrench, Dale plans to retired from Injection Connection in late 2026. His contribution to this community — to Motor Mania, to Horsham Road, and to everyone who ever brought him a project car — is impossible to overstate.
